Ready to Work January 2020 Graduates at Coastal Alabama Community College
Coastal Alabama Community College 1st 2020 Ready to Work Graduates on the Brewton Campus completed the program on January 7, 2020. Two of the students, Michelle Taylor & Marlana Bowman, are already enrolled in the Spring 2020 semester at Coastal Alabama Community College, taking advantage of the free tuition waiver for one college course. The graduates gained 11 additional stackable certificates that they can attach or document on their resume. The RTW Instructor & Career Coach, Mrs. Marlo Young helps students prepare for the workforce and post-secondary education. Alabama Ready To Work’s partnership with Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind
Ready To Work (RTW) is a soft skills training program that provides participants entry level skills needed for employment. The new RTW curriculum debuted in October 2017 and, along with content updates, sought to increase accessibility to individuals with disabilities. With these updates, AIDT was able to establish a partnership with E.H. Gentry, a vocational and educational rehabilitation program, which serves adults within the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind to offer the RTW program to their students. Shonna Soliday, from Huntsville, AL, enrolled in the RTW program and is the first graduate of their program.
